My Weekend In Photos

What did you get up to this weekend??

Friday Night;
After donning my PJ's for my #BloggersPJsDay selfie, I settled into a well needed night in with the Mr. Ribs & Chips for dinner & an episode of Scandal.

Oh boy was that episode a good one!
Are you a Scandal fan?  Team #Olake or Team #Olitz??  I can't choose I am totally rooting for both relationships, it's like a warped love triangle!

Saturday;

I spent my day immersed in washing.  I have totally been negligent and let my washing pile grow to an unacceptable level.  This resulted in me doing 7 (yes 7) loads of washing. What a rock & roll lifestyle I lead!
In amongst the textile madness I did find the time to re-paint my nails a lovely Autumnal shade; Manhattan by NYC - In a NY Minute.  I love these nail polishes.  They dry so quickly and always provide such an amazing quality.  I have tonnes of shades of these polishes.  They retail at £1.99 each from Superdrugs and at such an affordable price (and generally under a buy 3 for the price of 2 offer) you just simply cannot refuse!

Then it was time to get ready for a night out on the tiles.
I couldn't decide whether to opt for a Nude/Bold lip so I ended up wearing both throughout the course of the night!

Saturday Night;
My other 1/2 is part of a well established Liquid Drum & Bass night called innerSoul. They hold quarterly events at Plan B in Brixton.  The dynamic of the 6 guys who run this event have managed to promote this brand into a real success.  The parties are regularly attended by industry heads, praising the vibes of the night.  It has even been dubbed the place to be for Liquid DnB.

I always have a brilliant night at innerSoul.  These guys are family!  So off I went on Saturday to the latest instalment.  A collaboration with a DnB record label; Integral Select.  This event promised to bring an awesome vibe & real party atmosphere and once again the lads did not disappoint!

If you are interested take a look at their website;

As I didn't get home until 7.30 AM today has been somewhat intentionally uneventful that is except for my immense lunch/dinner at Toby Carvery.  Check out Andy's portion!  Where does he put it all!

Check out Pudding! >>
Really wish the weekend wasn't over but I am currently in bed about to snuggle down for a well needed early night!

Peace out

#WorldKindnessDay

I thought I would share 10 kind things as today is #WorldKindnessDay;

  1. I have love for each of you that have taken the time to read my blog, like my pic, tweet me, watch my video.  Without your support - I am one LONELY blogger!
  2. I try to see the beauty in everyone & everything in life. Open your eyes - LIVE!
  3. Cherish your family & friends, life is too short and one day they won't be there - won't that be sad!
  4. Make time for others - Good Karma outweighs Bad, tenfold!
  5. Do at least one good deed per day for a stranger.  Today I told a lady on the train that her hair looked amazing - she looked so down before I said it, she instantly brightened up.
  6. That one friend who doesn't call or text any more, but you used to be so close to...CALL THEM - say hi and that you were thinking of them!  Olive branch!
  7. Sit down with your children, ask them how their day was. Take 1/2 an hour of our busy lives to be kids again - play a game, draw, read, dance, sing.  HAVE FUN!
  8. Respect your Elders; Parents, Grandparents, reach out - make time for them - they may have looked after you as a child and devoted many hours of their time to you - now it's your turn to return the favour.
  9. Tell your significant other that you love them and why...compliments are free and mean so much more than gifts.
  10. SMILE - when you smile, the world will smile with you :)
Happy #WorldKindnessDay Friends

The Hype about Fat Shaming - My opinion

I must start by stating a few things here; I am a big girl. I am 5ft4 and weigh approx 111kg. I wear a size 20/22 in clothing. I would be classed by society as obese if not morbidly. I have battled with weight gain since the birth of my Daughter 13 years ago. I started pregnancy as a healthy & curvy (I've always been blessed with a chest) size 12. I ended my pregnancy as double that & then some. After I gave birth I was wearing size 28 clothes and I loathed the sight of me.  I have tried a multitude of diets, healthy eating plans, exercise regimes and cold turkey and I have seen results  after all I am no longer a size 28. I am nowhere near my goal weight (11 stone) or goal dress size; 14 but I am proud of my achievements so far and recognise I have a fair old way to go.

The point of this post is to give you my opinion on the current fat shaming saga.

No one should ever be allowed to shame anyone else for any reason; race, gender, religion,  size, sexual orientation or otherwise.  It should not be seen as ok to criticise anyone after all not any single one of us is perfect.

I agree that being overweight is not the healthiest way of living and I appreciate we should not condone obesity but I ask you, what is wrong with people loving the skin they are in and honouring their sizes whilst acknowledging we are not perfect but that's ok. We all have our personal crosses to bear and we all have journeys towards change to embark on.

I don't see a problem with people celebrating their size whatever that may be.

I believe in body positivity and learning to love yourself and that makes change much easier. If you love yourself you are more likely to care about your health and wellbeing which could be a benefit to weight loss.

To shame a person because of their weight may not be a productive course of action to help them shift that weight. It could spiral them further downwards, cause depression, anxiety or even worse.

I say that if we love each other and ourselves a bit more we may be healthier, happier versions of ourselves.

What do you think??
