Why struggle with chafing when you could be....Chaffree??

I must admit, I wasn't holding out much hope for any miracles when I agreed to review +Chaffree 's Womens Knickerboxers.

The pitch: "Chaffree underwear is designed to offer relief from sweating and chafing."

I was dubious, I have tried other shorts such as Sloggis and the like and even Primark's shapewear and nothing managed to achieve what Chaffree were promising. Could they really keep me sweat-free?  Could these shorts see me through a whole Bunny Hop Fitness class without the usual uncomfortable feeling of my undies sticking to my skin?

My first trial of the shorties was for the Regent's Park 10k Charity run/walk for the British Heart Foundation.  Now walking that distance for anyone who's thighs touch could be a real concern, no one wants to experience that unneccesary sensitivity between their thighs.  Sometimes walking can be extremely uncomfortable, especially when it's warm or when your sweating.

I teamed the Chaffree Knickerboxers with a +PanacheLingerie Sports bra in pink that was very kindly provided for me for the walk too!

Together this pair made my walk a breeze!  The walk took me 2 hours and although I was sweating everywhere else my nether regions were super dry!  I was in shock!  I was so wrong! What is this wizardry? How is it possible?

Chafree's products are made of a seamless and lightweight performance wicking material called COOLMAX®, which is designed to keep skin cool and dry.  They are also latex free and they have built in anti-bacterial properties giving relief from sweating and chafing.

OK so they stood the test of walking...how would they cope with an exercise class?

Well...I was again floored by how dry I felt. Sweaty all over...except...there!!

Simply put people I cannot rave about these enough. Gone are my days of chafing, gone are those sweaty uncomfortable journeys home after an exercise class. You just have to try them...

They come up large so upon the advice of Chaffree themselves I sized down.  I'm between a size 18/20 and I was sent a size M/L and they fit like a glove, almost like a second skin (you can barely tell you're wearing undies!!

I think for exercise the longer leg lengths would be a good shout to tackle the inevitable odd roll up situation. But even saying that...I readjusted once during the whole hours class when wearing regular undies I'd spend a good 40% of my time "de-wedgying" myself and this class is a wiggle-fest!

Check out the website for styles and sizes but these are for both Men & Women and they are thoroughly worth every penny!!

...now excuse me I'm off to order my lifetime supply....

Xx

Lisser Moi Cosmetics *Product Review*

Lisser Moi Cosmetics very kindly donated a little bag of creams to the winners package for Miss British Beauty Curve.
So I gave them a little whirl and I thought I would do a little review for you of the products I have tried out.

Included in the bag;
  • Full size bottle (250ml) of Grapefruit, Vanilla & Argan Oil Hand & Body Cream
  • Travel size bottle of Lemon Verbena & Rosehip Hand & Body Cream
  • Travel size bottle of Ylang Ylang, Orange & Macadamia Nut Hand & Body Cream
  • Lisser Moi mini crystal nail file.

All of these products are rich but once applied to the skin they don't feel heavy or leave a lot of residue.  They do keep the skin feeling refreshed and hydrated giving it a lovely glow.

The creams absorb into the skin well and are infused with gorgeous scents which are not hugely overpowering but the smell does linger on the skin which is a plus point to me. Too often you apply a cream and it smells divine when applied but then the scent is lost very quickly.  This isn't the case with these creams, sometimes the scent was apparent up to a few hours after application.
I first tried them in August and still have quite a bit left in the full size bottle even with repeated uses, although I haven't used it daily or for full body coverage either.

A little goes a long long way with these products, a small pump of the cream is more than enough to moisturise both hands.

My favourite out of the 3 products is the Grapefruit, Vanilla & Argan Oil Hand & Body Cream  I adore the smell.

You can buy all three full size products from Lisser Moi's website; >>Shop Lisser Moi<<

A full size bottle is £21.99

The crystal nail file is really handy to keep in your handbag!

Don't forget to connect with Lisser Moi & let them know what you think of their products

Amina Lace Bodice from NineX Lingerie *Review Post*

I was very kindly sent this beautiful bodice from +Nine X Fashion to review.

I had been eyeing this little saucy number for a while so was thrilled to get it.

Packaging really makes a gift for me so the discreet & attractive packaging was right up my street.

The bodice is made of a stretchy and super soft material with a lace embroidered trim and mesh cut outs & a single pearl embellishment.  Simple design; no buttons or poppers, just pull it on.

There is no support in this garment whatsoever so I toyed with the idea of wearing a red bra underneath. You of course can do this, but my red bra was a completely different shade and it ruined it! So I braved the "bra-less-ness" I was pleasantly surprised.  It has a very similar feeling to a swimsuit with no support so expect nothing more of it.  The bad boys DID stay in place but I was only standing. I can't imagine I would be happy to sport this as part of a day outfit without a bra underneath.  This was designed as lingerie and would be perfect as a saucy bedroom number.

I have an awful suntan line from Sharm so my "pale bits" would be on show without careful positioning on the thighs as it is quite high cut, all that being said it did cover my whole backside, which I was nervous about from the website photos!

You can buy this item online here >>Buy Amina Here<<
Price: £20.99 for sizes 18 - 24
       £19.99 for sizes 8 - 16

Sizing wise this was a size 4XL (I am a size 18/20 in normal clothes)
The sizes on the website range from a UK 8 to UK 24 (but they also use the corresponding sizes; Small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL all the way to up a 6XL so I guess that means an 8 would be a Small and a 24 would equate to a 6XL)
Overall Summary: Cute & sexy little bodice which with adequate support could be worn as an outdoor outfit too.
Rating: 8/10.
Potential improvements: It could do with being longer in the body - I have a particularly short upper body and even I think it could do with a little more material.
Would I recommend this? Yes I would recommend this but only if you are comfortable wearing this with no bra support.

Tease Me...A Curvy Kate Lingerie *Review*

What a lucky girl I am to have this gorgeous Tease Camisole from Curvy Kate in my boudoir collection.

I adore this cami, it's so nice to find adequately sized and well fitting lingerie.  For years I struggled to find lingerie that covered my 5ft 4, size 18/20 frame, now I don't have such a struggle with brands like Curvy Kate, Panache, Scantilly, Pour Moi, Ewa Michelak, Bravissimo making beautiful garments in a range of sizes.

This set can be bought with either a matching thong or suspender shorts. I'm by no means a thong girl (never have been, nor will I be...) but the set arrived with a thong!

The colour is what attracted me first, it's a beautiful red shade called Cranberry.

The detailing on the cups are quite intricate,  the inner cup is a cream colour called Champagne with the cranberry lace & mesh overlay.  There is a matching cream coloured ribbon along the trim and cranberry and champagne bows on the joins of the straps and in the middle of the two cups.

The cami has a split front reveal which makes it a little saucy, but there's a frilly trim to each flap so it still feels uber girly.  The trim extends to the bottom of the cami which then brings the overall length to just below butt cheek level (cheeky!)

There's a standard 3 hook and eye fastening at the back and a keyhole and fully adjustable straps.

The fit of this cami snug. It's sized by the bra size so I chose a 38G in this set and the thong was a size 20.  The thong could use a little more material round the front in my opinion.  The balcony style bra fits fantastically just like their bras, giving awesome cleavage and maximum lift.

This is available from sizes 28 to 38 in D to J cups and the shorts and thongs start from a size 8 and go up to a size 20.

The cami can be bought from Brastop here and it's currently £37.00 which I think is great value.

I loved this cami so much that I chose to wear it for my recent shoot with the ever beautiful, acclaimed & impeccably talented photographer; Velvet D'Amour.

Velvet is such a pro, she knew just how to pose me to showcase the garment effectively whilst still being rather seductive, that's exactly what I wanted.

Combined that with the amazing hair and make up skills of Rachel Williamson who transformed me in under an hour from plain Jane to siren.  Fantastic work all round.

You lucky lot get the first peek at these shots which I have held exclusively for this post....see don't I love you!

Overall Summary: This set is perfect for the bedroom and I love how it makes me feel sexy and girly.
Rating: 8/10
Potential improvements: The thong definitely needs to have some extra material.
Would I recommend this? Yes I would recommend this, it would be perfect for a saucy Valentine's night in!

Boohoo Plus Monochrome Illusion Dress *Review*

I'd always want to see whether the "illusion" was as impressive in the flesh so when I spotted this dress in Boohoo's Plus range, I grabbed it determined to see what all the fuss was about.

Illusion dresses are meant to create the impression of an hourglass figure, using contrasting colour panelling.

I wore this to the Miss Supranational, UK heats, where I was supporting my sister queen, Emily who was competing. She looked sensational and I'm so proud of her.

Sorry I'm digressing...back to the dress...

The dress is a fitted bodycon style with a semi halter neckline. This dress calls for a strapless bra in my opinion. You could totally rock it with a strapped bra but the straps would be clearly visible.
It falls just below the knee on my 5ft 4 frame.  I'm wearing a size 18 in this dress. I personally feel that Boohoo sizes are generous. I am between and 18/20 and this dress fits me comfortably.  It's designed to be a snug fit.

It's made primarily of polyester but has 5% elastane too so it has a bit of stretch to it.

The main colour of the dress is white, but there is black panelling on the front of the dress down each side to create and hourglass shape illusion.  The back of the dress is entirely white. It has a small split in the back and a fully concealed zip.

I styled this with my black velvet waterfall blazer which was gifted to me from +Scarlett Jo and one of my favourite pairs of shoes from +Simply Be  and of course a strapless +Wonderbra UK & shapewear from +Primark

You can still buy this dress online here >> BUY THIS DRESS <<
It's currently selling at £22.00 which is a bargain in my opinion.
It is available from a UK size 16 to a UK 24.

Overall Summary: I love the concept of an illusion dress, but I'm not quite sure Boohoo have got it entirely right with this one.  The dress is gorgeous, but not a full illusion and that defies the object in my opinion.

Rating: 7/10

Potential improvements: I think if the primary colour of the dress was black with just a front white panel, I think the illusion would be better.  So the back would need to be in black. Otherwise I like the cut and style of the dress.

Would I recommend this? Yes I would recommend, the value for money is good and it's overall a lovely dress, just not much of an illusion!

In search of uplift...Curvy Kate Cascade Set *Review*

After many years of wearing ill-fitting bras and being told by various “professional” bra fitters on many different occasions that I was a 44DD for so long you could imagine my confusion when Hannah from Curvy Kate measured me to a 38GG.  She seemed to know my size from just looking and at first I doubted her – that was until I tried this bad boy on!

The fit was unlike any bra I had ever tried.  The middle was flush against my breast bone, my boobs weren’t spilling out of the sides or the underwire wasn’t cutting into the side of my boob and what’s more – I had some serious cleavage going on.  Hannah told me that if I continued to lose inches (through BunnyHop) I may need to drop the back size but go up a cup size to a 36H and true to her word, that is my current size.  I bought this set in a 36H and Size 18 shorts.

I was fitted on a whim in Evans on Oxford Street one evening and I had not been in a position to buy on the day, but I fell in love with the colour of the Cascade set in “Topaz”  So when I saw that Curvy Kate had a fantastic offer of bra sets for £20 at Style XL I could not help myself.  I picked up this set and another in black and a few pairs of undies from the £1 a pair bargain bucket!

The bra has a gorgeous diamond shaped embroidery on the cup with an adorable little droplet jewel in the middle. The material has a elastane feel to it, but it's a soft laminate so it feels silky smooth.

It gives fantastic lift and for me that's a big plus. Since having a bubbs my boobs just lost their perk so anything that gives me a semblance of the once known perkiness was always gonna be a winner in my eye's. No "four-boob" going on and no side spillage! (Some serious official terminology there!) The straps are fully adjustable.

The shorts are made of the same material as the lower part of the cup and even feature the same embroidery and  droplet detail. My bottom half is by far the biggest part of me and I often opt for a size 20 in most undies so for my sizeable ass to fit into a CK size 18, the shorts must be a generous fit.
This set is available NOW at Brastop and there are BLACK FRIDAY deals reducing many lines to £14 (Go Check it out!!)

Just search for "Cascade Topaz"

The balcony bra was £29 now only £14 & the shorts were £15 now only £8  It's such a steal make sure you take a look-see!

The style is also avail in a jade colour "Pixie" same cut but it's still full price :(
The sizes of the balcony bra (Product code: CK3601) range from 28-40 in a D to K cup and 42-44 in a D to G cup.
The shorts (Product code: CK3603) range from an 8 - 22
There is also a thong in the same sizes but thongs don't really do it for me!
Overall Summary: This set makes me feel confident and sexy. The quality is brilliant, the set washes well too.
Rating: 8/10
Potential improvements: I would've preferred a slightly higher waist on the shorts, but that's just preference.
Would I recommend this? Yes I would totally recommend being fitted by Curvy Kate. Their designs are gorgeous and girly. Perfect for day to day wear and pretty enough to rock in the bedroom too!
