Lights, Camera....ACTION!

Today I filmed my first EVER make up tutorial.  I chose to do a Tiger/Cat look,  I thought I would keep in the Halloween spirit and do a look that is a little less creepy and little more "Kat" (see what I did there!)

Space is a bit of an issue in my house, so I opted to strip down my dressing table and bring forward the mirror allowing space for my Nikon D5000 & it's tripod to stand behind it.  

My daughter Mya is a vlogger too, so we nabbed her two light boxes and positioned them either side of my stool.  Add that to my yellow bulb lamp from Ikea to make a makeshift 3 point lighting system.

It's not ideal, the window is behind me so I can't utilise the natural lighting.


I have absolutely zero video editing skills...so I have enlisted Mya to edit my vids until I learn how to do it myself!  (This may never happen, cos it looks quite complex to be honest!)

Anywhooo...

So here is the look I created for you;

Halloween Make Up Looks

I made my first attempts at 2 Halloween looks yesterday; Wednesday Addams & a Scary Doll

They were both fairly easy to do but these are rushed and I can't wait to re-do them with a little more love.



The Boyfriend Blazer

I love this look - it's often my go-to look for when I am off out for dinner or drinks.  The Blazer is a lovely shade and really compliments either black/blue denim.  Fits well and its a wool blend so it's quite thick & warm :)

Flight: Juliet Oscar 1400 25/10 From Biggin Hill



Today I had an awesome day!  Family trip in a PA28 Warrior, captained by none other than my very own Captain Gray (Who needs Christian Grey when you have your own!)

 We flew from Biggin Hill to the QE2 Bridge, then out to the Thames Estuary.  Past Southend and down to Winstable, over Leeds Castle, Maidstone & Sevenoaks.

 Such an amazing experience and such a proud moment to see Andy doing something he has worked his butt off to achieve for so many years!

 So...can we go again now please...like now??

Excitement

Firstly; It’s FRIDAY people!  As if you didn’t know this already!

Hope everyone has some fun stuff lined up...

Here’s what my weekend is looking like;
  • Preparing my first beauty/make up blog post for you guys :)
  • Recording my first make up tutorial for YouTube with the help of my talented Small Child; Mya who is going to help me edit it :)
  • A flight is booked for 1400 hours on “Juliet Oscar” with Captain Gray on Saturday!
  • Obligatory “Scandal” catch-up. 

In between all this fun stuff I will need to fit in boring chores...this is the downer of the weekend and it always takes SO long!  It sucks, kinda like that point on a Sunday night when you come to the realisation that you gotta go back to work in the morning!  Proper come down, who can relate?
