No Shade Zone

Positivity invokes positivity but the flip side to that is that negativity breeds negativity.

Tearing strips of each other will never make us stronger. However a kind comment, well placed speaks volumes.

I believe in boosting each other up, empowering others to realise their true beauty, supporting others in their own journeys and spreading love where ever I can.

No one of us are the same as another so we should be celebrating our individuality.

You will never find any shade being thrown here. You are all beautiful and there is plenty of space for us all to exist happily without having to step on each other or beat each other down to big ourselves up. It's neither warranted nor necessary!

Be kind...it's free!

One love <3 Xx

Dare to Bare??

In an effort to promote the fact that women are a thing of true beauty and that we come in all different shapes and sizes I would like to share with you something that I hope will show my true vulnerability.
This is me....these are the photos I took back in April for the Curvy Kate #StarInABra lingerie competition.

No airbrushing
Just me...

I am not perfect - far from it....but I am me and I am HAPPY!

I accept my flaws and imperfections - but this is who I am and I am unashamed.

I continue to strive to be the happiest & healthiest version of myself possible.

This post is for all the women out there who ever feel self conscious about their bodies, I understand...but instead of beating yourself up about it...celebrate the things you do love instead.

So in true spirit of growth & self acceptance, I ask anyone reading this....

...do you #dare2bare

Make that bold choice and prove to yourself that you are beautiful - warts & all! Post a selfie of yourself baring all - be as daring as you like, but just make sure you use the hashtag; #dare2bare.

I showed myself at my most vulnerable, hoping to inspire others to step outside of their own comfort zones and share parts of themselves they would usually hide away and celebrate that in all its beauty. You don't have to expose all, just test your own limits.

Make sure you link me to any of your posts - I would love to see yours too :)

Can I get an "AMEN" up in here??

Every single human in the world deserves the right to be happy!  Without exception!!

Other people's opinions hold too much weight.

The minute you stop taking stock of how other people perceive you to be, will be the minute you begin your journey to self acceptance and in time...self love.

I've been watching a load of RuPaul's Drag Race recently and she says a line which really hits home for me....

"If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else!"

and to that I give the biggest "A-MEN" cos you have to love yourself first.

We all have flaws and parts of ourselves that we don't love, but those flaws are in our hands to change should we want to.

Once you love you - others will see the inner beauty surpass the outer beauty and you will positivity glowing!

YOU CAN DO IT!

I believe in you!

First step - look in that mirror....right now....do it...now pick one thing that you dislike about yourself.....got it....now instead of thinking negatively about it - find a positive about it (no matter how small or insignificant the positive may be - there will be one) Now say that positive spin out loud....BE PROUD...now repeat it.....and again (with attitude...baby) and keep saying it until something clicks and it will - that click is acceptance!  Once you feel that click - remember that feeling and keep flicking back to it when you're feeling low.

My example; Stretch Marks

So my positive spin - These are my tiger stripes, my daily reminder that my baby girl changed my life for the better. I love her - so I love my stripes!!

I try to do this at least once a day and it really does help - you feel like a right wally at first - but eventually you will find more and more things that once were a hindrance that you can now be thankful for.

Ms Surrey Curve 2015 - Made The Mirror!!

I am totally flabbergasted!

Little ole #MsSurreyCurve2015 got a feature in The Mirror!

They have featured a beautiful shot of me taken by the ever so talented Chiara Aprea and they quoted my submission entry for the +Simply Be #CatwalkContender search;

"I want to represent the unsung. I want to shout from the rooftops that everybody is beautiful regardless of size, weight, race, ability or sexual preference. I want to inspire others to embrace life and achieve their dreams, because I am living my dreams and if I can do it then they can too!"

I have a problem though - I won't be considered for the search because I am not tall enough - the minimum height is 5ft 8 and I would only reach that in heels!

I am so disappointed, because Simply Be are very important to me and I would be honoured to be considered.

Hopefully - they will see the abundance of beauty being submitted of ladies who do not qualify with the height restriction and they will re-consider the entries, because we are beautiful too and worth consideration!

- Please re-consider +Simply Be & MILK Model Management
- I am worthy of being a #CatwalkContender too :)
