Lovedrobe's Little Lacy Number *Review*

The team at Lovedrobe were very kind to send me this lovely little number to try on for size.

This lace crochet shift dress in my opinion is true to size and even has a little room for give on the waist. I am wearing a size 20 here.

The lace/crochet patterned overlay is cute and I really like the detailing on the arm trim and hem.  The inner dress is the same colour as the outer layer; somewhere between fuchsia and cerise.

The dress comes up a little on the short side - I couldn't comfortably bend over in this dress. On my 5ft 4 frame it sits about 3/4 inches above the knee.

The arms are one the tight side and the cut of the dress makes it quite difficult to raise your arms without hoisting the dress up, which with the length is not really ideal!

I love the colour and style of this dress and it's a huge shame about the length.  I am not a tights girl at all, so unless I can rock it bare legged it's not for me.  This dress would strictly have to be worn in hot weather or even a holiday dress!  Teamed with a pair of killer heels and clutch this would be simply gorgeous for a warm summer's eve.

If you are tempted, it may interest you to know that this dress is currently in the sale on Lovedrobe's website here, reduced from £55 to £28 which is a fantastic reduction. So get it while it's hot!
It's available from sizes 16 - 26.

Have you tried this dress? What are your opinions?

#StyleHasNoSize - Represent us ALL!

With the plethora of stylish plus size bloggers & curvy plus size models out there all within Evans reach, it is a wonder why they opted to only represent the industry's ideal of plus size.

The campaign seemed to be gathering momentum piqueing the interest of many and yesterday Evans seemed to gain a lot of backlash for chosing not to be diverse in their movement.

Someone's style is not measured by the size of their jeans. #stylehasnosize  I love the hashtag and would totally back it, I just wish that +Evans Clothing had tried to show more diversity in their campaign yesterday. I have seen some fantastic displays from my friends yesterday showing the world that all sizes should be represented, each one makes me proud. Take a look at some examples of how we can show that #everybodyisbeautiful and that #everysizehasstyle.  Let's encourage diversity not conform.

We ALL need clothing - we WANT fashion to be accessible to all sizes.  We only ask that the media represents us all fairly...is that too much to ask?

Illustrations by Murder of Goths

Kathryn (or MoG as we call her) is one hell of a talented lady and when I spotted her illustrations popping up all over social media I secretly longed to see what I would like at her fair hand.

When she tagged me on Instagram with this illustration I was beside myself.  Utterly flabbergasted that firstly she would even consider drawing me and secondly at how amazing it actually was.  She really managed to capture me.  Even if you hadn't seen the original photo, it wouldn't matter cos this illustration, even with minor detailing is a fantastic portrayal.

I was in love, so much so that I asked for a commissioned piece.

That's when she blew my mind with this...

I actually cried when I saw it for the first time.  I had never felt so beautiful as I did that very moment and for MoG to be able to recreate that effortlessly made my heart melt.

You can check a fine selection of Kat's artwork over on her Instagram below
